Mona is an Accredited Specialist in family law and has worked in family law since her admission to practice in 2015. Mona also has experience as an Associate to a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, which provided an invaluable daily insight into family law matters.

Mona is an empathetic and approachable lawyer who is committed to providing practical and simplified advice to clients to guide them through the family law process.

Mona has experience in a vast array of family law matters including complex and high-conflict financial and parenting/children’s matters, including but not limited to:

• property settlement;

• spousal maintenance disputes;

• de facto and same sex relationships;

• matters involving a third party ;

• preparing Financial Agreements and representing clients seeking to set aside a Financial Agreement;

• parenting matters involving child protection issues, family violence, sexual abuse, mental health issues, drug and/or alcohol misuse and criminal proceedings;

• where a person has parented a child that is not biologically theirs and seeks parenting orders for that child;

• representing grandparents and great-grandparents in parenting matters;

• urgent recovery orders of children;

• relocation of children;

• overseas travel; and

• child support disputes.

Going through separation and divorce can be stressful and emotional and Mona is mindful of this and treats all of her clients with dignity and compassion.

Mona regularly represents her clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and at mediations, where she always strives to resolve the matter by agreement where possible without the need for prolonged and expensive litigation.

Mona holds a Bachelor of Laws and is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of NSW and the Supreme Court of Queensland. She is a member of the Law Society of NSW, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Women Lawyers’ Association of NSW.
